White Eyed Moray (Siderea thyrsoidea)

The White Eyed Moray (Siderea thyrsoidea) is a widespread tropical species that can be found on rocky and coral reefs. On the east coast of Australia it can be found as far south as Sydney where juveniles are offered found over the warmer water months. They are variable in colour from pale grey to a brownish colouration and their eye is the most distinguishing feature as it is always white. The species grows to a maximum size of 65cm but is more commonly found around 40cm.
